Swesey >From THE TUSCARAWAS ADVOCATE, NEW PHILADELPHIA, OHIO, DECEMBER 25, 1889 Some miserable miscreants or scoundrels placed a set of car track wheels new the house R. R. tracks at the car shops last Friday night, which caused the instant death of Mr.C. F. Sweesy a yard foreman. He was standing on the end of a lot of cabooses with a yard engine attached, going down the above named track which struck the obstruction. Mr. S. jumped against a lot of box cars which were standing on a side track, the caboose toppling over on him and pinning him to the ground, smashing his head shapeless. The funeral took place last Sunday afternoon, services at the M. E. Church, and interment in the Union cemetery, conducted by the order of the Red Cross Commandery, of which he was a member. The deceased leaves a wife and one child to mourn his loss. Submitted by Peggy Paterchak, grandniece of Mr. Swesey -------------------------------- End of OH-FOOTSTEPS-D Digest V01 Issue #62 ******************************************
