Kathy Baker, Roma BUSY SEASON Promised for the Next Term of the Divorce Court At the present rate at which divorce suits are being filed, the divorce mill is promised a heavy and steady grind for the next term of court. Anna Kern complains that on account of Jacob Kern's drunken habits and extreme cruelty towards her, she is unable to live with him longer. They were married April 3, 1887 at Celan's Grove, Pa., and have one child as the fruit of their married life. She says that on account of his cruelty she has been forced to leave him, and she also alleges that he circulated the report that he was not the father of their child. She prays for a divorce, custody of their child and alimony. MISSING MAN Turns Up in Wauseon, O., Crazy About a week since Frank C. Bryan, an employee of the Woolson Spice company disappeared and all efforts to locate him proved futile. This morning a phone message from Wauseon informed the police that an insane man was confined in the jail there, and that he gave his name as Frank C. Bryan, and his residence as 1127 Ontario Street, Toledo. The friends of the man will bring him back. Warrant for Arrest San Francisco, July 2. A warrant has been issued for the arrest of O. M. Welborn the deposed collector of internal revenue, but the United States marshal has been unable to locate him. City Newslets The receipts at the post office for the quarter ending July 30 are $66,393.76. The stationery engineers elected the following officers at their last meeting: President, J.M. Young, vice president, Grant Miller; secretary, M.J. Moran; treasurer, A. Keller. A lady named Mrs. Appleton, from Lake City, Mich., is in the city looking for her son-in-law, James Calhoun. She came here to visit the family, but has been unable to find them. She is staying at 1219 Page street. KILLED. Fatal Accident Caused by a Collision San Francisco, July 2. At 2 o'clock this morning the steamer Resolute carrying sugar, ran into a scow which was at anchor. Custom House Inspector Jas. A. Plunkett was killed and another man badly wounded. S.G. A PREACHER CONVICTED OF STEALING Reading, Pa., Sept. 12. Rev.Martin Luther has just been convicted here of larceny. HANGED TO A LIMB BY A MOB Amory, Miss., Sept. 12. Steve C??mp and George Boalter, two negroes convicted of rape, were taken from the sheriff on the way to jail and hanged from a convenient limb by a mob. OTHER PERSONALS: Someone poisoned two hogs belonging to Chas. Kuebler, of Monroeville. Kuebler has his suspicions in the matter, and if they prove correct someone will probably get a home at Columbus for a while. John Beard, in a card to the Putnam County Sentinel, declines to be recognized in the farmers' movement. He believes that the ills of the farmer arise from too much tariff, and can be cured by tariff reform. Monclova: Quite a number of the farmers have finished their fall seeding in this vicinity...Monclova township has adopted the Smead heating and ventilating apparatus for the village school...Al Black, who is studying telegraphy at Whitehouse, visited at home a few days this week...School will commence in district five next Monday, with Miss Nettie Kerr for teacher....Lawrence Jones is attending school in Maumee...Rev. Mr. Albright, village pastor, is attending annual conference at Hicksville, Ohio, this week...Mrs. D.Heffelbower is visiting relatives at Abolt, Ind....Mrs. Bulger, of Wauseon, visited with Mr. and Mrs. Black a few days last week....Mr. Fay and family, of Neowash, were the guests of H. Wauseon--Lake Shore Company will commence grading for the double track next Monday...Clipper Base Ball club will play the Normal team on their grounds next Saturday...Wauseon tennis club was defeated last Friday by the H.M. Tennic club of Defiance by the following score: Double, 6-4-7-5; singles 6-4-6-2. A return game will be played on the fair grounds at this place next Friday...Debate at the Chapel hall this evening...H.R. Moltz has purchased an interest in the leading dry goods house in Decatur, Ind., and has left for that place...Wauseon citizens are commencing to cry for a new depot. We do more business for the Lake Shore road than any town between Toledo and Elkhart and yet have the poorest depot...George Chapman, a pension agent of St. John's, O., is at present in this city on business...E.T. Kathy Baker FATAL. Boiler Explosion in Pittsburg This morning. Pittsburg, July 3. (Special) A fatal boiler explosion occurred at 6 o'clock this morning in the Union Salt works on Page street. Two persons were killed as follows: George Crouse, day watchman; Andrew Fleuger. Injured: James Davis, fireman, and John Ruth. The explosion damaged the building and ignited the debris. Cause of the explosion unknown. Prisoner's Sentenced. Lima, O., July 3. Benjamin Simons, convicted of murder in second degree, was sentenced to the penitentiary for life. Three young men, Bailey, Kelley and Wilson, convicted of pocketpicking, were given five years each; William Tullis, arson, three years; William Klinger, arson, was sentenced to Mansfield reformatory. Oldest Minister Dead. Columbus, July 3. Cornelius D. Battele, the oldest Methodist minister in Ohio, residing at 25 East Third Avenue, in this city, died last night, aged 90 years. In early days he preached on circuits in Kentucky, Pennsylvania and Ohio. Captured. Supposed Thieves in the Hands of the Law. Wapakoneta, O., July 3. Superintendent Hogle of the United States Express company, with four deputy marshals, arrived here from Minster, O., having in charge John Lowrey and J.W. Patters, who were arrested at Minster after a desperate resistance. About ten days ago the express office at Hobbs, Ind. was entered by burglars, who secured two money order books. They have been filling out those money orders for various amounts and having them cashed in Ohio and Indiana towns, including Union City, Ansonia, St. Henry and Minster. Suicide Wave. Struck the City of McKeesport This Morning. McKeesport, Pa., July 3. (Special). Mrs. John B. Taylor, wife of a well known iron manufacturer of Pittsburg, suicided this morning at the home of her mother by shooting herself through the heart. She was 23 (*maybe 29) years old and leaves a baby a year old. For some years she has been subject to nervous attacks.
