Cokonougher, 43, died at noon Monday in his residence at Lyndon Rt. 1. He was born April 25, 1924, in Ross County, a son of John and Amelia Miller Cokonougher. On March 12, 1952, he married the former Christine Shepard, who survives. He also leaves a son, Daniel, of Phoenix, Ariz.; two brothers, John, Jr., Chillicothe Rt. 3, and Howard W., Lyndon Rt. 1, and a sister, Mrs. Geraldine Barnhart, of Greenfield. A brother preceded him in death. He was a member of South Salem Methodist church. Service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Murray funeral home. Rev. James Brown will officiate, with burial in South Salem cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m., Wednesday." From the 7 Nov. 1967 Chillicothe, Ohio “Gazette”: "HERBERT COKONOUGHER. GREENFIELD - Herbert M. Cokonougher, 43, died suddenly of an apparent heart attack Monday noon in his home, Rt. 1, Lyndon. A native of Ross County, he had spent much of his life in that community. He was a member of the South Salem Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Christine Shepard Cokonougher; a son, Daniel, of Phoenix, Ariz.; two brothers, John Cokonougher Jr., Rt. 3, Chillicothe, and Howard W.
