Paul Bud Slater, 57, of Ohio 41, Bainbridge, died 4:55 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, 1991 at his residence. Born July 7, 1933, in Ross County, he was the son of Thomas and Opal Cokonougher Slater. On Oct. 27, 1956, he married Kathleen Binegar, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Mark Cooper of Columbus; a grandson, Evan; step-mother, Katheryn Slater of Bainbridge; six step-sisters, Helen Roseberry of Lexington, Ohio, Mary Crabtree and Minnie Bosko, both of Mansfield, Shirley Kearney and Charity Long, both of Chillicothe and Jeanie Miller of Frankfort. He was retired from Rickenbacker OANG and was employed at WKW Construction Co., Washington Court House. He was a member of the Sunnyside Chapel CCCU, Post 14 American Legion in Bainbridge, Bainbridge Lodge 196 F&AM, Royal Arch Masons 133 of Greenfield, Fayette Counsel 100 and the Commandery 028 of Washington Court House. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Bainbridge Church of Christ in Christian Union with Rev. Paul Gibson, Rev. Lyn Jackson and Rev. Jerry Powers officiating. Burial will be in Bainbridge Cemetery. Friends may call 4 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Smith-Moore Funeral Home, Bainbridge. He is survived by his wife, the former Elizabeth Newman; a son, James Storts; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild. He was predeceased by two wives: Jessie and Enid E. Storts; a daughter, Opal Kaffonbarger; three brothers, and three sisters. Arrangements for a memorial service in London are pending. He was born Jan. 4, 1891, in Ross County and moved in 1944 to London where he was engaged in general farming and farm real estate. Surviving are his wife, the former Elizabeth Newman; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Delores Storts, London; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a great-grandchild. He was predeceased by two wives, Enid and Jessie, a daughter, Opal Kauffenbarger, three brothers and three sisters. Memorial service will be 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the London Church of the Nazarene, 224 Elm St., London, with Rev. Jack Womacks officiating. Arrangements are by Geer and Eberle Funeral Home, London.
