He was born June 29, 1919, in Ross County to John Henry and Amelia Irene Miller Cokonougher. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a millwright at Mead Corporation for 30 years. He was a member of the South Salem United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Pauline Anders Cokonougher, whom he married November 1, 1945; two sons, Glen M. Cokonougher of Andover, New Jersey, and Steven E. Cokonougher of Westerville, Ohio; six grandchildren, Mrs. Mia Wagner of Greenfield, Steven E. Cokonougher of Frankfort, Brian J. Cokonougher of Abilene, Texas, Amie Lynn and Jason R. Cokonougher of Westerville, and Emily Ann Cokonougher of Chillicothe; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, September 2, at Murray Funeral Home. Burial will be in South Salem Cemetery, where military rites will be accorded by the Greenfield VFW and the Bainbridge American Legion Post.
