EBRIGHT. Ernest E. Ebright, 86, of Greenfield, died at 4:20 a.m. Monday, June 3, 1996 at Greenfield Area Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born July 2, 1909 in Ross County to John W. and Sadie Clark Ebright. He had retired as plant superintendent at Candle-Lite Inc., Leesburg. Following his retirement, he worked at the Greenfield Municipal Hospital and Greenfield Daily Times. Mr. Ebright was a U.S. Navy veteran and member of Pisgah Mt. Pleasant Federated Church where for several years he served as Sunday School superintendent. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Mildred E. McMullen Ebright, on Dec. 31, 1993. They were married April 9, 1938. He was also preceded by a sister in infancy. Mr. Ebright is survived by five daughters and three sons-in-law, Phyllis J. and Stephen Eusey of Tampa, Fla., Carol A. and Robert Hamilton of Greenfield, Susan E. and Robert Dupont of North Pole, Alaska and Karen and Jill Ebright, both of Columbus; four sons and a daughter-in-law, John and Eileen Ebright of Williamsburg, Ohio, George C. of South Salem, William D. of Frankfort and Kevin M. Menegay, which occured at his home at Cleveland, Wednesday morning at 8:30 o'clock. The cause of his death was apoplexy from which he had suffered several seizures. Louis P. Menegay was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Simon Menegay and was born just west of Louisville about fifty eight years ago. He was married to Miss Mary Chevraux and for a number of years the family lived in Louisville. Mrs. Menegay survives her husband but their two children died some years ago. During his residence in Louisville he was a member of the council and held the respect and esteem of everyone. Mr. Menegay is survived by the following brothers and sisters; Mrs. Louis Ley, Charles, James, and Henry, of Canton, Frank Menegay of Akron, Mrs. Jane Faiver, of Michigan, Miss Anna Menegay of Louisville, and a brother August, whose residence is unknown. Mr. Menegay conducted a restaurant at Medina and was engaged at his work when he died. He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Simon Menegay and was born and raised on a farm west of Louisville. His age was almost fifty years. He is survived by the following brothers and sisters. Miss Anna and James Menegay of Canton, Henry Menegay of New Berlin, Charles Menegay of Akron, Mrs. A. Faiver of Lansing Michigan. The body was taken to the home of Louis Ley, at Canton, and funeral services were held at St. John's Catholic church Thursday morning. The attendance of relatives and friends was large for Mr. Menegay was always cordial and kind to all. Interment was made in the family plot in the Catholic cemetery at Louisville. Born: 20 Jan 1860. Survivors are his widow, Mary Paumier Menegay, a daughter, Alice of the home, and a sister, Mrs. Rose Rebillot of Louisville. Services were held Saturday at St. Louis church. He had been sick for several months and his death was caused by stomach trouble. Squire Shillig was born April 18, 1841, and spent his entire life in Nimishillen township. He was Justice of the Peace for several terms and took much interest in education. For the past ten years he was totally blind. Mrs. Schillig and two sons, John and Charles, and one daughter, Mrs. Robert Martelet, are living. Funeral services will be held at St. Louis church, Saturday morning at 9 o'clock. Died: 6 Dec 1911.
