Williams, 85, of Greenfield, died Friday, Aug. 3, 2001 at Edgewood Manor. She was born on Jan. 11, 1916, in Clarksburg, to John and Margaret (Stevenson) Roberts. Mrs. Williams was a member of the Washington Avenue House of Prayer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest Williams in 1982; two brothers, Gerald and Wilbur Roberts; and four sisters, Lucille Miley, Betty Groves, Garnett Cottrill and Leola Riley. She is survived by her children, Donald Williams, of Washington C.H., Joe (Faith) Williams, of Frankfort, Tom Williams and Larry (Linda) Williams, both of Greenfield, eight grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; brother, Harold Roberts, of Dayton; three sisters, Edith Mossbarger, of Washington C.H., Eatha Seymour, of Bookwalter and Aldena Byrd, of Springfield. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2001 at the Washington Avenue House of Prayer. Burial will follow in the Good Hope Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wellman-Kinzer Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday. They have copy of her mariage to Alec Spurgeon which date is 1892 and she thinks she was 16 yrs. old when married, so that would bring her birth around the yr. 1876 but we want exact proof. Their records burned. They have a son Lafayette Spurgeon who is age some where in the twenties and was born in that Co. could you get his correct age or could you tell us where we could get it. Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed The name of the newspaper which contained the following obituary newspaper clipping is not known, or shown on the clipping. Somebody did write the date of "Oct. 15, 1966" on the clipping, along with the words "my cousin", though. "MRS. FRANK LAWSON. PIKETON - Mrs. Florence Lawson, 75, of Route 2 died at 2:15 a.m. Saturday in Pike County Hospital after an extended illness. Born Aug. 2, 1891, in Pike County, she was the daughter of James F. and Sarah Ellen Swiger Gleason. In 1912, she was married to Frank A. Lawson, who died Jan. 2, 1958. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Glenora Litterst of Frankfort and Mrs. Georgia Jackson of Route 2; three sons, Walter of Mansfield, Harold of Waverly Route 2 and James of Route 2; 12 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Francis Silcott of Waverly, Rte. 2. Service will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Howe Co. Funeral Home here. The Rev. John Castle and the Rev. Ernest Grooms will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Waverly. Crowe Jr., 55, of New Holland, died on Monday, Oct. 22, 2001 at 10:42 a.m. in the Fayette County Memorial Hospital. He was born on July 26, 1946 in Chillicothe to Edgar and Marie (Lansing) Crowe Sr., both deceased. He spent most of his life in New Holland. Mr. Crowe had been an employee of The Morrison Farm. He was a member of the Church on Frontline in Clarksburg. Mr. Crowe is survived by his wife, Rosemary (Williams) Crowe, whom he married on March 8, 1978; three children, Wendell, Jennifer and Brittnie Crowe, all at home; four brothers, Richard (Pam) Crowe of New Holland, Larry Crowe of Clarksburg, Robert (Melinda) Crowe of Jeffersonville, and Dave (Bobbie) Crowe of Jackson; a sister, Linda (Dwight) Hester of Chillicothe; his mother-in-law, Wanda Williams of Bainbridge; several nieces and nephews; and special friends June and Sparky Boysel of Mt. Pastor Harris also sang one song titled 'God Sees a King', and Millie Harris sang 'Ride Out Your Storms'. The organist was Robert 'Sonny' Harris. Pallbearers for burial in the New Holland Cemetery were Robert Richards, Larry Crowe, John Crowe, Nelson Seymour, Skeeter Sowers and Billy Morris.
