Schmidt, 85, South Salem, died noon Saturday in Greenfield Manor. Born Sept. 17, 1892, in Ross County, she was the daughter of Zachariah and Mary E. Wisecup Cokonougher. A member of the South Salem Methodist Church, Mrs. Schmidt was a member of the United Methodist Women. She owned and operated a grocery store in South Salem. Her husband, John A. Schmidt, died July 22, 1962. Surviving are two foster children, Mrs. Patty Leach, Middleport, Ohio and Alvin Conaway, South Salem and six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Six brothers and a sister preceded her in death. Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Murray's Funeral Home, Greenfield. Rev.
