Limestone, Springfield, died at Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Springfield, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Born in Ross County June 29, 1891, she was the daughter of Jospeh A. and Julia Smart Miller. She was a retired school teacher, having taught 10 years in Ross County and 37 years in the Springfield city schools. She held a bachelor of science degree from Wittenburg University and was a graduate of Buckskin Valley High School, class of 1914. She was a member of the local, state and national Retired Teachers Association and the Covenant Presbyterian Church. She is survived by one brother, Ersie Miller, Springfield; a niece, Mrs. Charles (Julia) Kussmaul, Hillsboro; three nephews, Dr. Dave Miller, Warsaw, Ind.; Earl Miller, Columbus, and Grant Miller, Obo, Ohio; and six great grand nieces. She was preceded in death by a sister, Visie Lattie. Service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel of Covenant Presbyterian Church, officiated by Rev. Richard Whittington. Burial will follow in Greenfield Cemetery, with graveside service at approximately 2:30 p.m. Fiends may call at the Jones Funeral Home, 733 S. Limestone st, (SR 72), Springfield, from noon to 9 p.m. Monday. Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed The following obituary is from the Friday, 13 May 1977, issue of the Chillicothe, Ohio "Chillicothe Gazette": "DEATHS. FORMER CITY PRINCIPAL DEAD AT 80. C. Ray Storts, 80, Route 1, Lyndon, a retired principal in the Chillicothe School System, died at 11:40 a.m. Thursday in the Barbara Park Nursing Home, Middletown. He had been ill two years. His funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Murray Funeral Home, Greenfield, with the Rev. Clair Emerick officiating. Burial will follow in South Salem Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Saturday. The retired school teacher had taught at Lower Twin School, in the Greenfield schools and at the night school at the former Federal Reformatory in Chillicothe. A native of South Salem, he was born Sept. 16, 1896, to Ira and Myrtle Cokonougher Storts. On Dec. 31, 1916, he was married to the former Elsie Ulen who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Loyd, Fullerton, Calif., and Lewis, Route 3, Greenfield; three daughters, Mrs. Eloise McDonald, Chillicothe, Mrs. Eleanor Rae Green, Wilmington, and Mrs. Earl (Rosalie) Mercer, Franklin; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ralph, Zanesville, and a sister, Mrs. Esther Leach, Leesburg. He was predeceased by two sisters and four brothers. Born Dec. 13, 1907, in Ross County, she was the daughter of Adtson Elsworth Cokonougher and Hannah Mazetta Huriless. She was married to Mark I. Smith, who died Nov. 20, 1953. Survivors include four sons, Mark Smith Jr., Frankfort Rt. 1; Arnold Smith, Greenfield Rt. 1; John W. Smith, New Port Ritchie, Fla., and Lloyd E. Smith, Dayton; two daughters, Mrs. David (Helen) L. Leaverton, Greenfield, and Mrs. Loren (Roberta Lou) Karnes, Hillsboro Rt. 1; three sisters, Mrs. John (Helen) Hollar, Lyndon Rt. 1; Mrs. Stanley (Audria) Fordyce, Florida, and Mrs. Kenneth (Evelyn) Staats, Bainbridge Rt. 1; one brother, Harold Cokonougher, Massachusetts; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
