He had been a patient for two weeks. He had lived on Rt. 6, Chillicothe and formerly lived in Alanta (thats the way it's spelled in article) Community. He was a retired farmer and his wife, Sarah Thornton Saunders, preceded him in death in 1943. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Norma Hill and Mrs. Mildred Hill, both of Chillicothe; Mrs. Elsie Stonerock, Dayton and Mrs. Dorothy Godfrey of Norfolk, VA; one son, Ted Saunders of West Jefferson; nine grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild. Funeral will be Sunday at Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in New Holland with Rev. Charles Lusher officiating. A member of the Pythian sisters of Adelphia Temple No 563, sons, Nolan, Chillicothe; Barton, Adelphia; and ray Kitchen of Dayton; two sisters, Mrs. Ann Valentine, Mrs. Margie Cain, both of Columbus; a brother Tom Mettler of Laurelville.
