Thinning out some of the paper pile, that has accompanied some of my research. 1909, a Circleville paper; photo copied in a book therefore no header. no date when this one was actually in the paper, but DOD is 3-30-1909 Former Superintendent, Joseph Stephenson Dead. Joseph Stephenson, formerly assistant superintendent of the Prudential Life Insurance company at this place, died Tuesday, March 30th at his home in Newark, of pneumonia. He had been ill just one week. He leaves a wife and four children, the youngest a baby. Burial took place Friday in Gallipolis. --------------------------- no newspaper date, but DOD is 3-31-1909 Wife of Bishop Vincent Dead. After an illness extending over two years, Mrs. John H. Vincent, wife of Bishop Vincent, of the Methodist Episcopal church and chancellor of the Chauttauquan institution died March 31, at her home in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born at Deposit, New York in 1832. Prof. George E. Vincent of the faculty of the University of Chicago is a son. - -------------------------------- 4-5-1909, Circleville paper DIED OF BLOOD POISON, Mrs. Rachel Elizabeth Duff, aged 70 years, died Monday morning at 7 o'clock at the home of her son, John Haughn of Deercreek township. Death was due to blood poison. Friday Mrs. Duff ran a nail in her hand and it immediately began to swell and pain her. She was married three times and is survived by on son, Mrs. Haughn, and a daughter, Mrs. Ada Firman, of Columbus. The funeral was held Wednesday and burial was in the Concord Cemetery. ------------------------- Hope this helps.
