Margaret, the oldest daughter of James and Jane Auflick was born at Elen Banks, County of Durham, England, September 28, 1845 and departed this life January 23, 1923, aged 77 years 4 months. Her father emigrated to the United States in the year of 1855, leaving his family in England. Six months later, death invated the home, and the Mother answered that noble call to the Great Beyond. Margaret Auflick and her sister then came to the Father in America and settled in Hartford City, W.Va., April 21, 18**, where with their Father they made a happy Christian home. Margaret Auflick was united in marriage to D.L. Bateman at Clifton, W.Va, June 21, 1865, and moved to Nelsonville, Ohio in the fall of 1877. To this union six children were born, two dying in infancy and Mrs. Margaret Rhodes, the oldest daughter, preceeded her mother in death on August 14, 1902. Two sons, James of Hartford City, W.Va., and Daniel of Dayton, Ohio, and one daughter, Mrs. Alice Wyskivers of Haydenville, Ohio, with whom the Mother made her home, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Jane Ann Hood of Mason, W.Va., are left ot mourn their loss. In childhood Mrs. Bateman was confirmed in the Church of England and after residing a few years in this country, she was converted and connected herself to the M.F. Church at Nelsonville, O. Jan 18, 1878 and has always retained a faithful membership there. She was always obedient to her duty to proclaim the Master's will. She has fought the good fight, she has finished the course and has kept her faith, so devout was her life here that those who knew her for her kindly examples, knew only to love her, the more, although summoned to answer the call to come higher yet will the memories of her noble life continue to live in those who surrounded her in her earthly home. She has gone to rest from her labors, with the will of the Master completed in a heavenly home, receiving the glad welcome, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant, enter into the joys of the Lord to a home and be prepared with hands, etneral in the heavens. ______________________________ ------------------------------ X-Message: #9 Date: Fri, 22 Feb 2002 21:08:25 -0700 From: marce@gru.net To: OH-FOOTSTEPS-L@rootsweb.com Message-Id: <200202230408.g1N48P426420@worldgenweb.rootsweb.com> Subject: New OH Death Record (Lewis E.
