The following obits come from a Scioto Co, paper; probably from Portsmouth,
there is no header; but the individuals lived in Portsmouth. The dates also
is not shown, but I know the dod for Josephine Mitchell to be 1-12-1917, so
would assume the date for the paper to be within a couple of days.
MRS. JOSEPHINE MITCHELL
Mrs. Josephine Mitchell, wife of Joseph W. Mitchell, a well-known local
citizen, died suddenly Friday morning at 7 o'clock at the family residence,
1314 Mound Street. Mrs. Mitchell had been ill since last Saturday with
intestinal grip and a general nervous breakdown. Few of her many friends
knew of her illness and the news of her death came as a decided shock to
them.
Mrs. Josephine Wright Mitchell was born in Richmondale, Ross county, December
3, 1861. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Mrs.
Louis Zucker, of 1644 Fifth Street, the wife of City Auditor Louis Zucker.

Deaths
Katie, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Ferguson, died at her home on North
Main street, Wednesday, April 6th, aged 13 years. She was a bright and
winsome child, and was dearly loved by her parents and young friends. She
had been in delicate health for a long time and suffered much pain, but she
bore it without murmuring. Her funeral took place Friday afternoon. Her
pall bearers were a number of little girl playmates and friends. Many lovely
flowers were strewn over the coffin by loving friends. Her bereaved parents
have the deep sympathy of their friends in the affliction.

VERY SUDDEN
Was the Death of Frank Ferguson at LaFayette, In.
George Ferguson returned Monday morning from LaFayette, Indiana where he was
called by the death of his brother. Mrs. Dickson will return this evening.
The funeral occurred Sunday afternoon and the remains were taken to Muncie,
Ind. for burial.
The death of Mr. Ferguson was very sudden, he only being ill a few hours.
His case rather baffled the physicians but it is thought that his death
probably resulted from brights disease. The deceased has been in his usual
