His mother, Betty Rockwell Chappelear, and grandmother, Vianna Alsup, formerly resided in New Holland. Mr. Chappelear was killed when he tried to pull his truck out of a mudhole with a tractor. The tractor upset on him. Mrs. Chappelear was a graduate of Gahanna Lincoln High School and had extensive service with the Ohio division of Wildlife. During the past few years he madehis home near Pomeroy. He was a member of Trinity Church of Pomeroy, Masonic Lodge of Zaleski, Aladdin Shrine, Scottish Rite, and Franternal Order of Eagles. Mr. Chappelear is survived by his wfie, Patricia, one son, Robert; two daughters, Brenda and Barbara; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Chappelear; two sisters, terry and Mary; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd E. Alsup of Columbus; paternal grandmother, Carrie Chappelear; and an aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Russel Thomas of McConnelsville. Services were held at Ewing Funeral Home, Pomeroy, on Friday, Feb 8, with Masonic service at 10 am and funeral service at 2 pm Rev. Wilbur Perrin officiated. Sandy Searching Family Stories with Sandy Feb 14 1974, The New Holland Leader BOUIC Friends here have received word of the death of Fred V. Bouic of Rio Grande, a retired professor at Rio Grande College, and a former teacher of Clarksburg High School. Mr. Bouic, 89, died on Jan 28, at the Holzer Medical Center at Gallipolis. He was a native of Union County and was born at Watkins, Ohio on July 25, 1884. He began his teaching at Clarksburg High School in 1908 to 1909. He obtained a law degree and education degree from Ohio Northern University, Ohio State University and Hamilton College in Chicago, Ill. >From 1921 through 1932 he was associated with the Bankers Life Insurance Co., and from 1932 to 1940 he operated a sugar business in Cuba. After returning from public school teaching, Mr. Bouic headed the Commerce Department at Rio Grande College from 1950 until 1962. He was elected by the board of trustees of Rio Grande College to the status of professor emeritus in 1962. He remained at the college as assistant librarian until June, 1973. He was buried at the Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery at Rio Grande. All of his personal property goes to the college. Mr. Bouic had returned to Clarksburg on several occasions and visited at the home of Mrs. Pryor B.
