The deceased had been in failing health since Easter and death was due to internal cancer. Mr. Miller was born in Germany and when a child of ten came to America with his parents in 1852. They located on a farm in Sherman township. Here the subject of this sketch grew to manhood, and was married to Margaret Dehe in 1868. Mr. and Mrs. Miller first settled on a farm six miles south of Bellevue where they lived for six years, later purchasing the farm where the balance of their married life was spent. Mr. Miller is survived by a widow, five sons and one daughter: Joseph, of Bellevue; Frank of Fostoria; Aloys of Franks; Andrew of Monroeville, Peter at home and Mrs. Leo Gerber, of Franks. He also leaves three brothers and three sisters as follows: John, Jacob, and Louis and Mrs. Adam Wise, all of Bismark, Mrs. Jacob Brown of Toledo and Mrs. Francis Brown, of Belding, Mich. At an early age Mr. Miller was baptized and confirmed and was a life long member of the Catholic church. Mr. Miller was an earnest christian a man of high character and untiring industry, a loving husband and father and an honored German-American citizen. The funeral took place from the Catholic church at Franks Wednesday morning at nine o'clock, Rev. Heitz officiating. GEPHART, died at the residence of his parents, on east Main street, at 7 o'clock Saturday. Mrs. Joseph CAMPBELL, died at her residence in Jackson Twp., last evening, aged 63 years. The funeral will occur from the residence. April 24, 1886 On Wednesday, Mrs Julia TERRY died at the home of her son-in-law, Mr. Layfayette WILLIAMS, aged 89 years. The remains were taken to Logan, Ohio for interment. April 28, 1886 Mr. Joshua DELAPLANE, a brother of Mrs. George WOLFLEY of this city, died, yesterday at his home in Hamilton, Ohio. May 5, 1886 Hiram JOLLY, an aged gentleman, who died at his home just over the Fayette county line, on Monday, was buried yesterday at New Holland, Ohio. Thos. WHITTEN, a well known horseman, having cared for and driven of the best horses in the country died at the County Infirmary, yesterday afternoon of consumption aged 52 years. The burial was made at the old cemetery this afternoon. May 12, 1886 Charles BUTLER died at his home on east Mill street, at 7 o'clock this morning of consumption, aged 63 years. May 19, 1886 Daniel DUNKEL aged 84 died this morning at his late residence in Walnut Twp. The funeral will be preached at St. Paul Monday, interment at Reber Hill Cemetery. May 26, 1886 Mrs. Wm. DEWEY, died at her home in Jackson Twp., Thursday, aged 25 years. Mrs. Samuel LINDSAY, of Columbus, daughter of Elijah HOSSLER of Laurelville died last night, aged 36 years. The remains were brought from Columbus today and taken to Adelphi for burial. Deceased leaves a husband and one child. She was a sister of Mr. S. E. HOSSLER of this city. Mrs. Jennie BACKENSTOE, wife of George, and daughter of Mr. J. B. JUDY, died at her fathers residence on Union street this morning of consumption, aged 20 years. Mrs. Ellen WOLF, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Reason WOLF of Deercreek Twp. died Friday, at the residence of her parents. The funeral service occurred at Williamsport yesterday. Nov. 10, 1886 Mrs. Wm. ROBY, died last Monday, and was buried on Thursday at the Dresback Cemetery. Services by Rev. M. DENT. Nov. 24, 1886 William Henry WILLIAMS, colored, died at his residence, Walnut Hills, at the age of 102 years old. Mrs. Martha GEARHART, wife of Frank, died last night at her home near Westfall. I do not know his parents names. Asa married a woman named Sarah. Got this info from the 1850 Census. They were living in Terra Haute, IL then. He is my GGGgrandfather. He had 4 children, John R., b. 1838 in Oh,Owen A. (My direct line) b. 1845 in Oh, Homer and Harriet (twins) b. 1850 in IL. I have hit a brick wall on this. Have no more info than this.
