Boettner, 87, died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 20= 02, at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna. Born Feb. 7, 1915 in Charlestown, he was the son of Walter A. and (Ethel Esworthy) Boettner. A Rootstown resident since 1955, he formerly lived in Ravenna Township. Mr. Boettner was a cabinet maker. He retired from Schumacher Lumber C= o. in Hartville and had worked for Roger Brown Lumber Co. in Ravenna. He was a member of First Congregational Church of Rootstown-United Church of Christ. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors include his son, Wayne (Hildegard) of Noank, Conn.; and sister, Eileen Rae of Garrettsville. His wife, Mary K., died in 1999. His sister, Jean Dutter, died previously. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at First Congregational Churc= h of Rootstown United Church of Christ. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Ravenna. Shorts Funeral Home, Ravenna Chapel, is handling arrangements. Memorials may be made to the church, P.O. They had 5 surviving children out of 11. Member of the G.A.R.. Arrived in Iowa 1868 many relatives, mostly farmers and many nephews that followed went into farming . Brother Peter moved to Kansas. Brother James served in the Confederate Army. Pall Bearers : Nephews ,James Ford, Patrick Waldron, Michael Ford, Michael Waldron (MyGreatUncle) , James Ford jr., And James Waldron (My Grandfather) .His living siblings; Michael Waldron ,Mrs Bridget Ford ( These Brothers and Sisters lived in Ballyhaunnis , Ireland) Kate Riely(Lived in Brooksville, Ky.) Buried at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Irish Settlement, Madison County Iowa. Buried with his wife and his children.He was my Great-Great Uncle,Brother to my Grandfathers Father (Thomas) ,all of Ballyhaunnis, Ireland.
