Spencer. My Caleb was born in about 1796 in Connecticut. He is seen in the 1825 in the first city directory for Hamilton Co., Ohio. In the directory, he is listed as a carpenter at Broadway & Seventh streets and is from Conn. There is also a Samuel Spencer at Seventh & Broadway listed as a rope maker also from Conn. I have not been able to determine if the are related or what the relationship would be. Caleb married Lavina S. Kibby [Kibbe, Kibbey] on April 2, 1825 in Hamilton Co., Ohio. Lavina was the daughter of Col. Timothy Kibbey and Rachel Stites who was the daughter of Major Benjamin Stites. Caleb and Lavina moved to Owen Twp., Clark Co., Indiana shortly after their marriage and here all of the children were born. Caleb drowned in May of 1850. Any help on his parents names would be absolutely wonderful! Roberta Iiames -------------------------------- End of OH-FOOTSTEPS-D Digest V03 Issue #67 ******************************************
