McBRIDE - is a general music dealer at Gallipolis, and agent of the Adams Express Company since July, 1875. He was born in Butler county, Pa. June 10, 1837. He came to Gallipolis in 1860 (?). His parents were Alexander nad Mary (Armstrong) McBride,both deceased. Mr McBride was married to ANNIE E. STEVENS, in Gallia county in 1867 (family info shows 1869). She is a native of this county, born July 17, 1840. Her parents are W.R.B. and Margaret (Baltezell) Stevens, settlers of this county in 1838. Her father is deceased. Mr. Mcbride was elected city auditor and city clerk of Gallipolia, in 1875, serving four years. He was a soldier in the late war, enlisting in the 78th PA. Volunteer Infantry, Com H, in 1861, and was transferred to the 7th Regiment Veteran Reserve Corps in 1863, and was discharged as expiration of service as sergeant-major of said regiment, in 1864. He had also three brothers who served in the late war, their names being Thomas, William and Samuel, junior, who are all at present living. Mr. Mcbride's post office address is Gallipolis, Gallia county, Ohio. Additional Comments: someone emialed me this - not sure where they got it. Looking for any/all info on wife - Annie E. The Will of James Ireland In the name of God, amen, this first day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty two. I James Ireland of Wayne Township, Belmont County, Ohio, being sick and weak in body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be to God; therefore calling unto mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain, this my last will and testament, that is to say, principally, and first of all, I recommend my soul to God who gave it, and my body to the earth, to be buried in a christian like manner at the discretion of my executors herein after named --- and as touching such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life, I give devise and dispose of the same in the manner and form following. 1st that all my debts be paid in a convenient time after my decease. 2nd I give and bequeath to my children Anne, Thomas, Sarah, Susannah, Mary Jane, Hannah, Dolly and Hamilton Ireland all my moveable property after my debts are satisfied, each one share and share alike, and likewise the above named legatees to have the use of the farm whereon I reside for the term of three years (clar from sent) after my decease, and then the farm to be sold at the expiration of the term and one hundred dollars of the money arising from the sale of the land to be equally divided among the above named legatees. 3rd I give and bequeath to my son Thomas M. Ireland the subscribing witnesses to said will, taken in open court, reduced to writing and filed, that said will was duly attested and executed, that the testator at the time of creating the same was of sound mind and memory, of full age and not under any restraint: We hereupon the court approve said will and order that the same be recorded with the proof now taken: And on motion of Daniel Peck Esquire, the court appoint Benjamin Lane administrator with the will annexed of James Ireland deceased, the said Johnston Ireland who is named in said will as the executor thereof, having in open court here declined taking upon himself the execution of said will: and order that letters issue to him upon his giving bon a with security in the sum of twenty six hundred dollars conditioned according to law and William H Guion and John W Trott being offered are accepted as such security. The court appoints Benjamin Loper, Thomas Tilcher and James Powell appraisers of the estate and effects of said deceased. Evidence The Sate of Ohio, Belmont County Court of Common pleas of said County March term A.D. 1843 George Ireland and Thomas Ireland the subscribing witnesses to a paper writing this day presented to the said court for probate, purporting to be the last will and testament of James Ireland late of said county deceased, came into court and each being solemnly sworn in open court; the said George Ireland for himself upon his solemn oath saith that he saw the testator sign said will, that he subscribed the same as a witness thereto in the presence and at the request of the testator; that the said testator at the time of signing said will was of sound mind and memory, twenty one years of age and not under any restraint. Smith and sent to Miss Alta Hazel Burnett "I Robert Henderson of Belmont County Wheeling Township and State of Ohio, Being weak in body but of sound mind and memory (blessed be Almighty God for the same) do make nad publish this my last Will and Testament in the manner and form following: Which I will and order that after my decease so much of my personal estate as can be spared of the farm be sold and if the money arising from the sale should not be sufficient to pay my debts and funeral expenses I will and odrder that as much of my real estate as will pay all my debts be sold. Also I will and bequeath to my beloved wife Margaret the one third of my real estate during her natural life. Also over and above, the best horse, one bed and bedding, one bureau, one corner cupboard with its furnature. Also I will and order that when my youngest child arrives at age sixteen years of age that all my real estate by sold and my beloved wife to receive the one third of the interest of the money arising from the sale, the remainder to be divided equally among my children, share and share alike, allowing to each one of them a larger proportion according to their labour given for the support of the family. But should my beloved wife Margaret again marry I will and Order that then my real estate be sold and divided as above specified. Also I will and order that hte mansion house that I now occupy be repaired by erecting a double chimney and the expense be defrayed as my other debts. And I appoint my beloved wife Margaret and my trusty friend Joseph Lyons the sold executors of this my last will and testament, and should any dispute or controversy arise with regard to anything expressed or understood in this my last will and testament, then I will and order that no legal process shall be instituted but that the executors of this my last will and testament shall appoint three freeholders of reputable character and their division shall be decisive and binding in all cases of controversy. Smith, a typed copy being found in the estate of Miss Alta Hazel Burnett: I Margaret Henderson of the County of Belmont and State of Ohio, do make and publish this my last will and testament in the manner and form following (to wit): Item 1st It is my wish that all my just debts and funeral expenses be fully paid Item 2nd I give and bequeath to my son David Henderson my farm on which he now resides in Wheeling township, Belmont County, Ohio excepting so much there of as may be disposed of thereafter said farm is bounded on the east by the land of George S. Henderson, on the south by William T. Henderson, on the west by John Sharp and on the north by Andrew Henderson containg fifty one and three fourth acres. Item 3rd It is my wish that as soon as convenient after my decease that twelve acres be sold off the west end of said farm and that my son William T. Henderson if he so chooses to do so may take the said twelve acres of land at forty dollars per acre, which he may pay in one year after my decease without interest. The proceeds of said twelve acres of land is to be distruted as follows (to wit) My son James M. Henderson is to get hundred dollars. The ballance of said proceeds after paying my debts and funeral expenses aforesaid and after paying for and setting up a decent set of head and foot stones at my grave is to be equally divided between my son John Henderson, my daughter Elizabeth Gillespie, my son William T. Henderson, David Henderson and George S. Henderson. It is my further wish that if the said William T. Henderson does not choose to take said twelve acres of land above stated then it is to be sold and distributed as above stated. It is further my wish taht my son James M. Henderson is to have my white and blue Coverlet two blankets and one sheet and two pairs of pillow slips. I also give to my son John Henderson my Corner Cupboard, and I give my daughter Elizabeth Gillespie all my wearing apperl and my candle stand and my white ticked feather bed and my Snow ball Coverlet and knotted comfort and all my cupboard ware, and all the ballance of my bed clothes pillow slips and tablecloths and all the clothes in my drawers not bequeathed. I also give my son David Henderson one striped ticked fether bed and under tick, one bedsted and a yellow flannel quilt and a comfort two blankets and two sheets and two pillows anf four pillow slips one boulster and slip and all my chairs. I also give his (David) son Robert my Bureau. I further bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Gillespie all my carpets. It is further my wish that all my children be agreed and satisfied with this my last will and testament and if any difficulty should arise it is my wish that it be left to three disinterested men settle the same. And lastly I hereby constitute and appoint William McCracken to be executor of this my last will and testament, revoking and annulling all former wills by me made, and ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament.
