The mine disaster is most likely the Millfield Mine Disaster that occurred on 11/5/1930 when an explosion of gas killed many of the miners. The towns you've mentioned are all either in or near Athens County, Ohio. Also, There is a BAILES found in the Athens County infirmary records I've been transcribing (oorg.bizland.com) I've included them below in case they are yours. There is also a Dennis McGloughlin there. The web site is searchable for any names of the area you're interested in. I'd also check the Athens County Rootsweb site. I know they ahve an entire page dedicated to the mine disaster, listing the names and info of those that were killed. Best of luck!
