McCorkle of Sidney Ohio, do make and publish this my Last Will and Testament. ITEM 1. I desire my just debts to be paid ITEM 2. I give to my daughter Alice McCorkle my house and six lots of land consisting of about three (3) acres adjoining the village of Hardin in Turtle Creek Township Shelby County Ohio located in the S. E. Qr. of Sec. 30 and N. E. Qr. of Sec. 51 of Town Eight (8) Range Six (6) and more fully described in Deed made to William F. McCorkle by Leonore Wilson as shown in Book 81, page 506 of Record of Deeds of Shelby County Ohio, to have the same in fee simple. ITEM 3. I also give to my daughter Alice McCorkle all, of my household goods and kitcen furniture of every description and all of my chattels and other personal property of every description (except the moneys I have on deposit and in certificates.) ITEM 4. I give to my daughter Alice McCorkle four Thousand Dollars in money ($4,000.00) ITEM 5. I give to my daughter Mamie Slagle Three Hundred ($300) dollars in Money. ITEM 6. My son Uriah McCorkle having already received advancement of four thousand ($4000.00) dollars in real estate is not to receive anything more until he above bequests have been paid or provided for. ITEM 7. I desire after the above bequests are paid provided for, that all the remainder then be divided between my son Uriah McCorkle and my daughter alice mcCorkle, share and share alike. Any one who try to break this will shall not receive any benefits from the same. ITEM 8. I nominate and appoint my son Uriah McCorkle and my daughter Alice Mccorkle as executor and executrix of this Will and request that no bond be required of them in the execution of the same.de. Kemper Additional Comments: William McCorkle moved to Shelby County from Pennsyslvania with his brother Cyrus in the mid 1870s. His wife, the late Emma Heisey, had preceeded him in death in 1912 when the will was written, and one of his two daughters, Alice, had not yet married. Although Emma and some of their infant children were buried in the Angel Street cemeter, it is unclear where William was buried. His son Uriah (mostly known as Riley) pastored two "Dunkard" Churches, and is remembered by many current residents of Shelby and Darke Counties. William died about 1922.
