Thompson managed to give the Marshall the slip between the jail and depot in Xenia; however and no trace has been seen of him since. It is claimed he stole a horse from Mrs. Frank West, of Samantha, January 15th and sold it to Goldblatt & Co, of Cincinnati for $52.00 Thompson is a married man and makes his home at Xenia. He is closely related to the West family and it is rumored that since his escape matters have been arranged so he will not be prosecuted.
