Lock St. Waverly, died at 8:15 pm Wednesday in Medical Center Hospital after an extended illness. Mr. McFerrin retired in 1976 as an accountant for District 9 of the Ohio Department of Transportation after 37 years of service. He was an elder of the Waverly First Presbyterian Church where his funeral will be held at 1 pm Saturday. The Rev. Lowell Simms will officiate and burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call at the Botkin Funeral Home, Waverly, 2-4 and 6-8 pm Friday. A native of Chillicothe, he was born May 10, 1906 to Charles O. and Alice Watson McFerrin. On March 20, 1949, he was married to the former Janet Sautter who survives. Also surviving are a stepson, Fred Hughes, Beavercreek; four grandchildren; two brothers, Charles E. and Paul, Chillicothe; and two sisters, Mrs. Elmer (Addie) Curry and Mrs. Karl (Hazel) Mount, Chillicothe. He was predeceased by his parents, three sisters, and a brother. At the Presbyterian Church, Mr. McFerrin was a former Sunday School superintendent and teacher. A charter member of the Waverly Lions Club, he was the recipient of the Silver Beaver Award in Scouting and was scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 76, Waverly. He was a past president of the Lake White Little Theater and a past president of the Waverly YMCA. Memorial tributes may be made to the memorial funds of the Waverly First Presbyterian Church or the Waverly Lions Club.
