They organized a new society under the leadership of Rev. George Reeves, who served as their regular minister for 18 years. Their present house of worship, a frame, located on the southern part of O. S. Hatch's farm, in the southern part of the township was erected in 1859. At that time there were 33 members. On account of deaths and removal from the neighborhood, the membership decreased to 17. Services are conducted by Rev. Elias M. Reeves, son of Rev. George Reeves, once each month. There is no Sabbath School connected with the church. Her brother was lying at death's door and a young man was sent in a buggy to bring Mrs. Little to his bedside. In driving out of town, they had to cross the B. & O. railroad tracks just below the station and just as the horse stepped upon the tracks, they found the Westbound freight upon them. The horse became frightened, making a quick turn, throwing the buggy over, which in all probablility saved their lives. Neither was badly hurt and are thankful their lives were spared.
