Mr. McGuire was aged about 64 years and had been a resident of this city since he was eighteen years old, having come from Clermont county. All his life until a few months ago had been spent in the milling business and for many years he owned and managed the large flour mill at the corner of Beech and West streets. He was one of the city's most prominent business men and in all his dealings was noted for his honesty and integrity. On Saturday afternoon Mr. McGuire had gone out into the rear yard at his home and later when his wife went out to look for him, he was found lying on the ground dead. He had been in ill health for several months, but his death coming as it did, was a great shock to his family and friends. Besides his wife, he is survived by five sons, Harry, George, Roy, James, and John and one daughter, Mrs. Harvey Scarborough. Funeral services were held at the home on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Dr. E. R. Slutz, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Hillsboro Cemetery. - ---------------------------- NOAH FAWLEY, one of the oldest and most highly respected citizens of the county died at the home of his son, Wright Fawley, near Tile Junction last Sunday from the infirmities incident to old age, he being over 90 years old. Funeral services were held at the church at Mt. Zion on Tuesday morning, conducted by Dr. E. R. Slutz, after which the remains were interred in the cemetery at Mt. Zion. - -------------------------------- MESSRS. CHARLES HILL and LUKE WATTS, of Kellogg, Iowa, WILLIAM WILLETT, of Preston, Iowa, C. C. Seal, of Cincinnati, and GEORGE HILL, of Greenfield attended the funeral of D. H. HILL last Saturday - ----------------------------- JEFFERSON FAWLEY and grandson of Dayton were called here by the death of the former's brother, NOAH FAWLEY, last Sunday. - ---------------------------------------------- VERNON HILL, of Dayton, was called here on Friday to attend the funeral of his grandfather, DH HILL. He returned to Dayton Monday morning. ---------------------- MRS. ALEX THOMPSON of Ghent, KY, MRS. MARY CLARK, MISS ANNA CLARK AND ROY MCGUIRE, of Cincinnati, and GEORGE BURNETT, of New Richmond, Ohio were called here by the death of JAMES MCGUIRE.
