She was married to the late Orange Barrows, Feb 12th, 1826. In early life she connected herself with the Baptist church, of which she always remained a consistent member. Mrs. Barrows had a tender heart for the poor and the oppressed. Her funeral took place on the 29th, and the large concourse of people that were in attendance testifies to the esteem in which she was held by all who knew her. Rev. C. G. Russell delivered an eloquent funeral address upon the occasion. ----------------------- MCGILL--Died of paralysis of the heart, at his home in Alexander township on the morning of March 23, 1888. Elijah McGill in the 70th year of his age. He retired the evening previous as well as usual, was up at two o'clock and looked after the fire as was his costume to do, he making no complaint. His wife awakening in the morning asked him it it was not time they were getting up and he made no reply, she put her hand on him and he made no stir, when she raised up and found that he was lifeless but warm. A physician was summoned but life was extinct. All indications showing that he had died without pain. His funeral took place at the C. P. church near Hibbardsville on Sunday, March 25, discourse by Rev. W. G. Archer.
