One death occurred in neighboring Fayette County and the second in Dayton. Phillip Holladay, 78, prominent retired farmer, ended his own life with a .22 caliber pistol in the basement of the Dayton home of his daughter, Mrs. Howard Haines, early Sunday. Mrs. Haines resides in the northwest section of Dayton. Mr. Holladay had been living there for several months. He had been in poor health recently and had visited a physician Saturday, it was learned. He apparently arose early went to the basement and shot himself in the head. The family was still asleep. The found him about 9 AM Sunday. The Montgomery County coroner said death came instantly. Services were held Tuesday at 2 PM at Eans funeral home with Rev. Talmadge Gregory and Rev. E. W. Seymour officiating. Burial was made in the Hillsboro Cemetery. He is survived by five sons and two daughters: Lloyd, Hillsboro Rt #, William G. Chagrin Falls, Ohio; Fay Hillsboro Rt 7, Noah of Hillsboro; Lewis B. Hillsboro Rt. 2, Mrs. Floyd McCoy of Peebles; Mrs. Haines Dayton. One sister Mrs. Nannie Cornetet, of Westerville, Ohio and two half sisters, Mrs. John Lindsey Hillsboro, Rt. 7, and Mrs. Fred Hill of Hillsboro, also survive. Harold R. Yankey, 33 of Marshall, who has been working at Jeffersonville, about 14 miles northwest of Washington CH ended his life with a shotgun in his hotel room in Washington CH Saturday about noon. Askew the subscribing witnesses to the last Will and Testament of Titus Brown deceased, who being duly sworn according to the law to speak the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth in relation to the execution of said Will, depose and say that the paper before them purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Titus Brown deceased is the Will of said deceased, that they were present at the execution of said Will, at the request of the Testator subscribed their names to the same as witnesses in his presence, and that they saw the said Titus Brown deceased sign and seal said Will and heard him acknowledge the same to be his last Will and Testament. That the said Titus Brown at the time of making, signing and sealing said Will was of legal age and of sound and disposing mind and memory, and under no undue or unlawful restraint what so ever.
