ELMER HUNTER Word has been received by relatives here of the death of Mrs. Elmer Hunter (nee Byrda McConnaughey) at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Herbert Lauterbach, in Portsmouth, VA last month. Funeral services and itnerment were held there. Mrs. Hunter was born in New Market, and lived in this county until about 30 years ago. She was approximately 80 years of age at the time of her death. Her husband, the late Elmer Hunter, was also born in this county. He died about 25 years ago. She is survived by the daughter with whom she resided and a niece, Mrs. Leone Rogers of this city. S. Oldaker near Russell. They will reside for the present at the home of the groom's parents. ---------- Last Saturday morning the death of Henry W. Elliott occurred at his home on South High Street in this city. Mr. Elliott was aged about 77 years and had been in ill health for many months. The body was taken to New Market on Monday morning, where funeral services were held in the Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. J. H. Hollingsworth, after which interment was made in the cemetery to that village. William McElwee, aged 62 years died at his home near Sinking Springs last Saturday from an attack of ehart trouble. Mr. McElwee was one of the best known citizens of that neighborhood and was highly esteemed. Funeral services were held at the church at Olive Branch on Monday afternoon and burial made in the cemetery near there.
