Photo can be seen at: http://www.usgwarchives.net/oh/paulding/photos/classpho2556nph.jpg Image file size: 61.8 Kb This photo was taken at the Cunningham (Pratt) School circa 1897. The Cunningham school was located in Paulding County, Ohio, and was located three miles north of Grover Hill in the extreme northwest corner of section 12. It served the area known as Latty Township Sub-district No. 1. The teacher in this photo was J. Harry Billingsley, who taught at the school from 1896 to 1901. My grandfather, John Henry Cokonougher, is the tallest boy in the back row, fourth from the left. His brother, Charles S. Cokonougher, is second from the left in the back row. John and Charlie, their siblings, and their parents, Zachariah and Mary Cokonougher, lived and worked in Paulding County for a few years around the turn of the century before they returned to Ross County, Ohio. The family made their living in Paulding County by working as farm laborers and working on ditch digging crews to drain the Great Black Swamp. I don't know the identities of the other students in the photo.
