New Lexington Herald, New Lexington, OH, Apr 10, 1919, page 1
James McDonald, aged 75, Civil war veteran, and highly respected farmer, died 
Wednesday night at his home one mile east of this place, after a prolonged 
illness. Three sons, John W., Frank and Robert, and two daughters, Mrs. C. W. 
Sycks and Miss Elizabeth McDonald, all of this place. The funeral was held at 
the Presbyterian church Friday afternoon, Rev. W. H. Belfry, officiating, 
interment in New Lexington cemetery.
