At one time the Daniel Barr family lived on the farm where this cemetery is located, however the burying ground existed long before that time. It is also known as the Marsh/Barr Cemetery. It is known that the first Beekmans to settle in Pike County about 1801 lived in the area and were buried here. It should be noted that three (3) Revolutionary War soldiers are buried here. To locate this cemetery from Latham, Ohio, go south on Grassy Fork Road, cross the Sunfish Creek bridge; beyond the first curve in the road a farmhouse once stood. The cemetery, now under the care of the township, is on the hill in back of where the house once stood. It is protected by a fence. There is no longer a roadway to the cemetery, however access can be had by walking. BEEKMAN, WILLIAM died 30 April 1816 son of William & Elizabeth BEEKMAN, WILLIAM A.
