It is documented that John Kincaid was one of the first settlers to this area, arriving between 1797- 1800. The burial ground is west of Latham, State Route 124, bear right past the State Fish Hatchery to Lapparell Road. On the left, facing the old spring house, formerly known as Kincaid Spring, now owned by the State of Ohio, on the hill across Sunfish Creek, the abandoned cemetery can be found. When the Kincaid family lived there it was known as the Big Spring. It is overgrown. Most tombstones are barely readable. The head of this family, John Kincaid was born in Augusta, Virginia, may have served in the American Revolution, settled in Ross, now Pike County. There isn't even a marker for the cemetery.
