From the 8 Aug. 1977  issue of the Greenfield, Ohio "Greenfield Daily Times":

                                SMITH.
            Lula B. Smith, 83, 1032 Mirabeau st, Greenfield, died 11:55 p.m. 
Sunday at Greenfield Municipal Hospital.
            Born Feb. 23, 1894, in Pike County, she was the daughter of George 
and Rachael Spurgeon McEdwards.
            Her husband, Charles A. Smith, died Dec. 18, 1961.
            Surviving are a son, Eldon R. Newland, 1019 Mirabeau st, 
Greenfield, and three grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by two sisters.
            Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Anderson-
Funeral Home, Greenfield.  Burial will be in South Salem Cemetery.
            Friends may call 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Rachel Ellen Barfell May 10, 1885.
	3.  Rachel Ellen Barfell, born May 02, 1866; died November 16.  She 
was the daughter of 6. Fulthy Barfell and 7. Sarah Ellen Lytle.
	
Children of George McEdwards and Rachel Barfell are:
		i.	Anna E. McEdwards, born March 15, 1899; died February 
20, 1966; married ? Ralph.
	1	ii.	Lula B. McEdwards, born February 23, 1894 in Pike 
County, Ohio; died August 1977 in Greenfield. Highland County, Ohio; married 
(1) Charles A. Smith; married (2) ? Newland.
		iii.	Anita Kathleen McEdwards, died October 14, 1932.

	6.  Fulthy Barfell, born Abt. 1810; died July 28, 1887.  He married 7. 
Sarah Ellen Lytle July 06, 1863 in Pike County, Ohio.
	7.  Sarah Ellen Lytle, born April 1824 in Ohio; died September 13, 
1915 in Highland County, Ohio.  She was the daughter of 14. ? Lytle and 15. ?.
	
Children of Fulthy Barfell and Sarah Lytle are:
		i.	Artamissa Emeline Barfell, born March 29, 1864; 
married James W. Coe.
	3	ii.	Rachel Ellen Barfell, born May 02, 1866; died November 
16; married George Henry McEdwards May 10, 1885.
