I, James K Stiles of the county of Preble in the state of Ohio do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say. 1st It is my will that all my just debts and funeral expenses be fully paid. 2nd I give devise and bequeath to my beloved wife Nancy M Stiles in lieu of her dower the half quarter of land which I own in Indiana during her natural life time. After her death It is my will that said half quarter of land be equally divided amongst all my children by my second wife Nancy M Stiles (viz) Elizabeth Stiles, Allias [Alice] Stiles, Ann Stiles, Hannah Stiles, and Joshua C Stiles. 3rd It is my will that my two children by my first wife Elizabeth Stiles, viz, Sarah Stiles and Francis Stiles have one Dollar each out of my estate. 4th It is my will that all the remainder of my property of every description (except household and kitchen furniture) be sold to pay my debts and support my family and lastly I appoint my beloved friend Benjamin Horner to be the executor to this my last will and testament revoking and annulling all former wills by me made and ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament. Harrell The State of Ohio Preble Co., Ss Special session of the Court of Common Pleas November 23rd,1836 Personally appeared in open court Isaac Taylor and Obed. Harrell of lawful age who being duly affirmed depose and say that the paper writing now exhibited in court is the last will and testament James K Stiles late of the County of Preble deceased that they saw him sign and heard him acknowledge the same that they signed the same as witnesses in his presence and at his request and that at the time of executing the same he was of full age of sound mind and memory and not under any restraint.
