West Leipsic, Putnam County, Ohio
I will try to write you a few lines to let you know how we are getting a 
long.  How is Jay at the collage.  How many horses have you got.  How many 
swine have you got.  How many cattle have you got.  This is Grandpas letter.  
Do you think the letter is nice.  Do you.  If you do, say so in the next 
letter.  I wish you do.  Did you hear in Alaska they had snow 10 feet deep.
Mr. Black is making his home hear in 1897.  My Pa shot 3 good loads on the New 
Years night.  I tell you they carried.  It scart Aunt Marth.  9 lines to write 
yet.  I will give you some paper to writ the other letter.  Will you.  How is 
Chets wife.  My Ma'Ma is sick.  She has got the grip.  How is the boys.  I 
guess I've sent you enough paper to write the next letter on.  Old Mulla died 
December 26.
Well I must close by this time.  Goodby
