Slusser, prominent farmer of Vaughnsville, dropped dead on the public highway two and one-half miles east of Middleport, on Sunday morning at 10 o’clock. He died in the presence of his son-in-law, Dr. Clarence Turner, formerly of Columbus Grove, who had been summoned to assist him in caring for a punctured tire he had experienced with his motor car. Mr. and Mrs. Slusser and his mother, Mrs. Jane Slusser, were on their way to Middleport to visit Dr. and Mrs. Turner. Death was instantaneous, and is believed to have been due to heart trouble, from which he has suffered for some time. He was 58 years of age and was born on a farm two and one-half miles southeast of Vaughnsville, where he resided until fifteen years ago, when he retired from active life and moved to Vaughnsville. Funeral services were held at the Slusser residence in Vaughnsville this morning at 10 o’clock. Interment was in the Clevenger cemetery near Vaughnsville."
