James Smith Company "4" Regiment Commanded by Colonel Carvil Hall from April 25, 1778 to Sept. 8, 1778. Joined again June 1779 and served under Belt's 4th Regiment in Maryland until November 1, 1780 and again in March 1781 when he was apparently wounded.
