Purdy, who was a private in the Revolutionary War and served from 3 to six months (she thinks) in Captain Andrew Thompson’s company, in General Potter’s brigade of Pennsylvania troops. Her said husband went out from Hopewell Township, York Co, PA in 1776 or 1777. Benjamin Savage and Thomas Dickson were privates in the same company and James Leper and James Proudfit [Proudfoot?] in the same mess.” “She further declares that she was lawfully married to said Patrick B. Purdy in the County of York state of Pennsylvania, on or about the 22nd day of January, 1787 by the Rev. James Clark, at the residence of Samuel Harper in Hopewell Township. That her husband, the aforesaid Patrick B.
