Mansfield News Journal, 3 Aug 1914 
William B. Brokaw, aged 66 years, died this morning at 6 o’clock at his home on Main
street in Bellville after 
an illness of five months with dropsy.  Mr. Brokaw has been in the restaurant
business in Bellville for the 
past fourteen years, prior to which he had been in the undertaking business for
twelve years.  He is 
survived by his wife, who was Miss Cornelia Moore, to whom he was married in June. 
He is also survived by 
one son, Ernest, living in Ft. Wayne, Ind., three grandchildren, three brothers and
three sisters.  Funeral 
services Wednesday at the Lutheran church in Bellville, conducted by the Rev. Mr.
Marlatte.  The service at 
the cemetery will be conducted by the Masonic Lodge.
