J.(Charles) Brown died suddenly Monday Veteran Express – Employee Taken by Heart Attack – Funeral this Afternoon While working at the B&O railway station early Monday morning, C.J. Brown, 67, platform superintendent for the American Express Company and veteran employee here, suffered a heart attack and died before a physician could arrive. Mr. Brown had helped some of the other employees take some trucks up the platform and when he did not return they went back and found him leaning against a truck. He said he was sick and they helped him into the express company office where he died almost immediately. Funeral services are to be held this afternoon at the home on Pearl Street with Rev. Harris Gillespie of the Methodist church officiating. Burial will be in the local cemetery. Mr. Brown was a charter member of Casca Lodge, Knights of Pythias, Bellville, his former home. He came to Willard in 1890 and began as an employee for the express company. For many years he was the local agent. He leaves a wife, two daughters the Misses Nell and Edith Brown, one son, Stacy Brown of Plymouth, and two brothers, E. A. Brown of Mansfield and A. H.
