MANSFIELD NEWS JOURNAL  March 15, 1944

DIES AT AGE 93

     Mrs. Mary Jane Hoover, 93, widow of G.E. Hoover. died today at the
home of her daughter, Mrs. Fred K. Frankeberger, 115 Carpenter road. 
She had been ill only a short time.  
     Mrs. Hoover was born in Illinois, June 25, 1851, coming to the
Mansfield vicinity 90 years ago.  She was a member of St. Michael's
Lutheran church at Mifflin.
     She is survived by three sons, William H. Hoover, Clearwater, Fla.;
Samuel D. and George H. Hoover of Mansfield; her daughter, Mrs.
Frankeberger; a brother, Atty. W.H. Lutz of Mansfield; and a sister,
Mrs. Laura Gongwer, of Ashland.  Seven grandchildren and 14
great-grandchildren also survive.
     Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday at the Wappner
funeral home with Rev. Grover E. Swoyer, pastor of First Lutheran church
officiating.  Burial will be in Mansfield cemetery.
