Thurman his wife of the County of Ross and State of Ohio of the one part and Nathan Thurman Junior of the County of Pittsylvania and State of Virginia of the other part Witnesseth that the said Pleasant and Mary G. Thurman his wife for and in consideration of the sum of thirty dollars good and lawful money of the United States to them in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained, granted, sold aliened in full and confirm unto the said Nathan Thurman a certain tract or parcel of land being and lying in the county of Pittsylvania and State of Virginia containing seventeen acres be the same more or less. Bounded and described as follows to wit: Beginning at the north east corner where Hayles line crosses Wards road as it is now turned thence westwardly with said line to Wards line thence southwardly with Wards line to where it crossed said road again thence along said road to the first station to have and to hold this aforesaid tract of land unto said Nathan, _____ executors, administrators and assign forever and the said Pleasant and Mary G. his wife doth for themselves their heirs executors and administrators warrant and defend the aforesaid tract or parcel of land unto the said Nathan his heirs executors administrators and assigns forever freed from the claim or claims of themselves, their heirs, executors and administrators. In testimony where of we have hereunto set our hands and seals the day and year first above written. Signed, sealed and delivered in the presence of Gwen McAdon Junior Allen P. And Polly his wife of the County of Pittsylvania and State of Virginia of the one part and John Abston of the said county and of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Nathan Thurman Jun. And Polly his wife for an in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars to them in hand paid by the said John Abston the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge hath bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and confirm unto the said John Abston his liens and assigns for one certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Pittsylvania State of Virginia containing seventeen acres be the same more or less bounded as follows to wit: Beginning at the northeast corner where Hoyles line crosses Wards road thence westerly with said line to Wards line thence southward with Wards line to where it crosses said road again thence along said road to the first station together with all the privileges and appurtenances to the same belonging or in any way wise ascertaining. To have and to hold the above granted land and premises to him the said John Abston his heirs and assigns forever and the said Nathan Thurman Jr. and Polly his wife for themselves their heirs _______and agree to and with the said John Abston his heirs and assigns he the said Nathan Thurman Jun. And Polly his wife and their heirs the said land and premises unto the said John Abston his heirs and assigns shall and will warrant and forever defend.
