Holes in paper suggest sealing wax was used. This Indenture made the twenty sixth day of October in the year of our Lord, One thousand eight hundred and thirty one, be- tween Adam Pearce and Elizabeth Elmer, late Elizabeth Pearce, of the Township of Shrewsbury County of Monmouth and State of New Jersey, and Thomas C. Pearce of the Township of Howell, County and State aforesaid being Children and Heirs of Deborah Pearce, late Deborah Brown of the said township of Howell___ of the first part, and John Pearce also a Child and Heir of the said Deborah Pearce, late Deborah Brown deceased, also of the said parties of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of ten Dollars to them in hand paid by the said party of the second part, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained, sold, _____________, ____________ released and Quit claimed and by these present, do grant bargain, sell _________, _________, release and Quit claim unto the said party of the second part his Heirs, and assigns forever, all the right title and Interest of the said parties of the first part of in, and to all that certain tract, piece, or parcel of Land in the City of New York hertofore known as Dominus Hook and also all the other lands situate in the City of New York, of which the said Deborah Pearce, late Deborah Brower did ________, or was entitled to at the time of her Death as a descendant or heiress of Anneke Bogardus, otherwise called Anneke Jants or Everardus Bogardus of said City deceased, Together with all singular the hereditaments and appurtenances, thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining, and the ___________ and _________ remainder _________, __________ and profits thereof - To have and to hold the above bargained premises and every part thereof, to the said party of the second part, his Heirs and Assigns forever - And the said parties of the first part, do also gran_, bargain, sell assign and set over, to the said party of the second part, his Heirs, Executors, Administrators and Assigns all the right, title and interest of the said parties of the first part, of in and to all monies and personal Estate goods or Chattels, to which the said Deborah Pearce, late Deborah Brower was entitled as a descendant or heiress of the said Everadus Bogardus, or Anneke Bogardus otherways called Anneke Jants of said City of New York deceased, In Witness whereof the said parties of the first part, have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written Sealed and delivered Adam Pearce seal in presence of Elizabeth Elmer (her mark) Joseph Goodenough Thomas C. Pearce seal State of New Jersey Monmouth County Be it known that on the twenty sixth day of October in the year of our Lord, One thousand eight hundred and thirty one, be- fore me the subscriber one of the Commissioners for taking the acknowledgement and proof of Deeds in said county personally appeared Adam Pearce, Elizabeth Elmer and Thomas C, Pearce well known to me to be the grantors named in the within release or Quit claim, and severally acknowledged, after I having first informed each of them of the within contents, that they signed, sealed, and delivered the same as their voluntary act and Deed for the use and purpose within expressed.
