                         HAROLD "DEAN" BOWMAN.
            Harold 'Dean' Bowman, 73, of Chillicothe, Ohio, passed from this 
life June 27, 2000, at Franciscan Hospital, Cincinnati, Ohio, after a 
courageous battle with lung cancer.
           He was born to the late William D. and Grace Ward Bowman, August 
25, 1926, in Chillicothe, Ohio.  He was predeceased by a sister, Helen Park; 
and two brothers, Ward and James Bowman.  Surviving are his wife, Patricia 
Hixson Bowman; two sisters, Maxine Lawhorn and Anne Clemmons; and one brother, 
Gordon Bowman.  Also remaining are the very dear members of his church family, 
Chillicothe Baptist Church, where he was a faithful and dedicated member.  
Dean was loving and kind to all who knew him, having a special bond with 
children and youth.
          He served in the U.S. Army December 13, 1944 through August 16, 
1946.  He was an employee of Chillicothe Telephone Co. for 34 years, enjoyed 
his horses and farming most of his life, and was a member of the Draft Horse 
Association and Percheron Horse Association.
         Funeral services will be held at Chillicothe Baptist Church, Clinton 
Rd., at 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon, with Pastor John Burns officiating.  Burial 
will follow in Twin Township Cemetery, with military graveside rites conducted 
by the Ross County Veterans Firing Squad.  Friends may call on Friday from 5-8 
p.m. at Haller Funeral Home.
        Memorial contributions may be made to Chillicothe Baptist Church, 341 
Clinton Rd.
