DAWES. Delcia M. Dawes, 91, of 711 Pearl St., Washington C.H., died at 7:45 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2002 in Fayette County Memorial Hospital. She was born Jan. 6, 1910 in Bourneville, Ohio, to John T. and Mary A. Wilt Sheese. Mrs. Dawes was a former member of the Gregg Street Church and the Washington Garden Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Dawes; brothers, Elmer, Alvin and Edwin Sheese; half-sisters, Eunice Stanley and Georgia Sams; sisters, Alpha Murphy, Lilly Meredith and Cora Sheese; granddaughter, Vienna Helton; and great-grandson, Kevin Ruth. She is survived by a son, Robert D. (Carol) Dawes Sr. of Washington C.H.; daughters, Mary Elizabeth Hurtt and Helen R. (Donald) Carson of Washington C.H.; half-sister, Emma Sams of Chilicothe; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. The committal service will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 4, 2002 at the Washington Cemetery, with the Rev. Neil Matson officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday at the Morrow Funeral Home in Washington C.H. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Fayette County.
