Lavinia Fulton, consort of John A. Fulton, in the 67th year of her age. Mrs. Fulton came to this place with her husband and son in the year 1804. She was a descendant from a respectable and numerous family of the name of Irwin, in Brandywine Manor, Chester County, Pa. She was a regular and consistent member of the Presbyterian church for forty years, a strong and active mind, and which through the blessings of Providence she retained in full vigor until her death. A most affectionate wife and indulgent parent - through all the varied circumstances of her life, she was benevolent and charitable in an eminent degree. No poor person ever left her home with an empty hand. Her attachment to her friends and relatives, was strong and permanent. Her grandchildren she would always have around her, several of whom she raised to the age of men and women, and expressed her most ardent desire of their welfare, prosperity and good conduct through life. In conformity to a wish she expressed many years ago, she was entombed in a vault in a cedar grove in the garden, which she helped to plant and water with her own hands. She left a husband one son and a great number of grandchildren and great grand children, who will have to regret the loss of their best friend. Located in "The Scioto Gazette" dated February 13, 1845, is a death notice for John: Very suddenly on the 10th at his residence, Mr. John A. Fulton, in his 76th year of his age. The August 1, 1853, edition of "The Scioto Gazette" states: [D]ied in New Holland, Pickaway county, Mrs. Eliza Fulton, wife of William Fulton, of this county [Ross].
