He was born Nov. 25, 1916, in Ross County, the son of Frank Hester and Rose (CLARK) Hester. He was a retired construction worker who had served in the U.S. Army in World War II. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 4736. Survivors include one son, Wesley Hester of South Salem; six daughters and their spouses, Betty and Hughlen Hall of Wilmington, Marlene and Charlie Kessinger, Lynchburg, Ann and John Howard of Berea, Ky., Linda and David Hughes of New Vienna, Rose Adams of Wilmington, and Alice and Charles Cade of Wilmington; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, several great- great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Winona (Ramsey) Hester, who died Sept. 28, 1996; one son, Harvey Hester; one infant grandson; and three brothers, one sister, and both parents. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 24, at 11 a.m. at Murray- Fettro Funeral Home, Greenfield. Burial will be in South Salem Cemetery, where military rites will be performed by the Concerned Veterans of Greenfield.
