                           BERNICE MARIE HILES.  
                              1926 - 2001.
        Bernice Marie Hiles, 74, of Greenfield, died at 11:56 p.m. Saturday, 
June 9, 2001 at Greenfield Area Medical Center.  
        Born Oct. 23, 1926, she was the daughter of Miles Ora and Martha Mae 
(Denner) Comer.
        Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Harold and Anna 
Hiles, of Cincinnati and Gary and Sharon Hiles, of Cincinnati;  two daughters 
and sons-in-law, Martha and David Ross, of Milford and Margie and Bob Trefz, 
of Greenfield; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren; one brother, 
Harold Comer, of South Salem; and one sister, Omalee Dawes, of Springboro.
        She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Robert Hiles, Oct. 
19, 1985; one brother, James Franklin Comer; one grandson, James Edgar Hiles; 
and both of her parents.
        She was a member of the Greenfield Church of Christ.  She was a 
homemaker and a teacher's assistant at the Hills and Dales Training Center for 
18 years.
        Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2001 at 
the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield.  Burial will follow in the South 
Salem Cemetery.
       Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
