JOYCE Mary Elizabeth “Lib” (Walley) Joyce, 84, of Chillicothe, died April 13, 2005, at the family home in Bainbridge. She was born July 9, 1920, in South Salem, to the late Joseph E. Cokonougher and Viva (Storts) Cokonougher. She was preceded in death by her brother, Elwood Cokonougher, her sister, Agnes Williams, and her husband, William Joyce of Columbus. Surviving are her four children, Vicki Shoemaker of Bourneville, Stephen B. Walley (Judy) of Upper Arlington, Stephanie McDonald (Dick) of Chagrin Falls, and Beth Harrison (Rob) of Bainbridge. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Grandchildren include: Chrissy McDonald Roush, Craig McDonald, Jeff McDonald, Angie Shoemaker Saxton, Todd Shoemaker, Abbey Walley Alleri, and Anna Walley. She graduated from Buckskin High School, South Salem, in 1938. She never knew a stranger and spent many years in sales. She retired from the Ross County auditor’s office. She was a member of the Bainbridge United Methodist Church and the Chillicothe Chapter 419 Order of the Eastern Star. She was the 1959 Easter Seals spokesperson. She was an avid sports enthusiast and followed her grandchildren and many other youths through their high school years.
