From Volume 2, Number 16, of the 29 December 1921 THE GREENFIELD INDEPENDENT of Greenfield, Ohio. 

                         DEATH AT THRIFTON.

          George B. Long, aged 81 years, a pioneer resident of Thrifton, died 
at his home Monday.  He is survived by his wife and three sons.
          Funeral services were held at the cemetery chapel at 2 o’clock 
Wednesday afternoon conducted by Rev. C. C. Kennedy.



Additional Comments:
Thrifton was located on State Route 41 in Ross County, Ohio, about 2 miles 
east of Greenfield, Ohio.  State Route 41 was relocated several years ago, and 
now no longer goes through Thrifton.  Since then, Thrifton, except for a few 
houses, has pretty much disappeared. What is left of it is currently located 
at the junction of Thrifton Road and Rapid Forge Road in southwestern Buckskin 
Township.
