Mr. Moss was twice married. His first marriage was to Martha Ellen Seymour. In the year of 1878 in Ross co, Ohio. To this union were born 14 children. Nine children and Mrs. Moss preceded him in death. On May 2, 1923, he was united in marriage to Hannah Purcell, who is left with 5 children to mourne the loss. The children are Mrs. James A. Sharp, Mrs. Patrick Hogan and Earnest Moss of Columbus, Ohio; Otis Moss of Circleville, and Floyd Moss of Chillicothe. Fifteen grandchildren, one great grandchild and five step children, Roy Purcell, Owall Purcell, Bessie Streets of Circleville, Elizabeth and Irene Purcell of Columbus and little Geane Merriman whom he has raised from infancy. Mr. moss was converted May 1926 and continued in faith until his Heavenly Father called him to receive his reward. Of his immediate family, one sister, Mrs. Catherine Sowers of Circleville, one brother, Thomas of Chillicothe, one brother who die six weeks ago, he also leaves a host of relatives and friends who will mourn him. No one knows the silent heart ache. Only those who have lost can tell of the silent grief that is bourne in silence. For our dear father we loved so well. More and more each day we miss you. Friends may think the wound is healed but they know little of the sorrow that lies within our hearts concealed. Father dear we are lonesome, for we miss your loving face; but you left us to remember, no one else can take your place. Goodbye Father, may you rest in peace. CARD OF THANKS We wish to express our sincere thanks to the neighbors and friends who so kindly assisted during the illness and death of our loving husband and father. The Circleville Herald Wednesday, March 2, 1930 PARALYSIS CLAIMS MAN John Wesley Moss, Aged 70, Dies at Home In Lovers' Lane Tuesday. Paralysis after an illness of 18 months proved fatal to John Wesley moss, aged 70, of 200 Lovers Lane, Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. He was born August 25, 1859, in Ross Co. and was the son of Conrad and Catherine Reed Moss. He was twice married, his first wife being Martha Ellen Seymour. His second wife, Hannah Purcell Moss survives him. He is survived by five children, Otis, of Cirleville, Mrs. James Sharpe, Mrs. Patrick Hogan, Ernest Moss, of Columbus and James F. moss of Chillicothe. One brother, Thomas Moss, of Chillicothe, one sister, Mrs. Catherine Sowers, Circleville, with 15 grandchildren and one great grandchild survive. He has four children deceased. Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m., at Crouse Chapel with Rev. O. L. Ferguson officiating. Burial will be in Crouse cemetery by M. S. Rinehart.
